Eligible counties for this year’s drawing

The drawing is not open to all Florida counties. Rather, entrants are able to file one entry form per county for the counties that follow:

Alachua (1), Broward (2), Citrus (1), Dade (2), Duval (3), Flagler (1), Indian River (1), Lake (3), Lee (1), Marion (1), Okaloosa (1), Orange (2), Palm Beach (3), Pasco (3), Polk (3), St. Johns (2), St. Lucie (1), Santa Rosa (1), and Washington (3)

The number next to the county name signifies the number of quota licenses available in that county.

How to apply

To apply, interested individuals can go to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s website at any point throughout the 45-day period here:  http://www.myfloridalicense.com/DBPR/online-services. An entry form can also be obtained in person at any DABT district office. Entrants must submit their application along with a fee of $100, per entry. Applications not submitted online may be mailed to the DABT’s Tallahassee office.

Those with questions on the drawing or application process may contact the DABT at 850-488-8284.

Questions on quota licenses?

The annual drawing is one way to obtain the highly sought-after quota license. For those with more immediate plans to open a bar, restaurant or other property that requires a quota license, acquiring one can be a challenging and costly process. Whether you are a buyer or seller, working with an experienced alcoholic beverage law attorney can help you understand what to expect and represent you throughout the transaction.
